The mission

Pass it on.
Help someone build.

More people should have access to the kind of perspective that helps them take their next step.

Why I’m here

Experience is useful.
Sharing it is better.

Building a business comes with decisions you’ve never had to make before. Cash gets tight. People need direction. Opportunities arrive before you feel ready.

I started BuiltOnTime to share the things I’ve learned through those decisions. The lessons from leading, rebuilding and investing, along with the perspective that comes from getting things wrong and having to work through them.

If you’re young, ambitious, curious or building something of your own, I want this to be a useful place to start.

Why I started BuiltOnTime

What that looks like

Knowledge. Support.
Opportunity.

01 / Knowledge

Share something useful.

Clear, practical lessons on money, people, leadership and decisions. Information you can return to and apply to your own situation.

02 / Mentorship

Offer another perspective.

Sometimes the most useful help is a better question. A different way of looking at the problem. Someone encouraging you to act.

03 / Opportunity

Back people who build.

I’m interested in people who ask for advice, put it into practice and keep showing up. Supporting that ambition is part of why I’m here.

Who this is for

Curious about business.
Ready to learn.

01 / Starting out

Make space for questions.

If you’re exploring an idea or starting a business, use the lessons to find questions you haven’t yet thought to ask.

02 / Building something

Step back from the day-to-day.

If you’re already running a business, bring a specific decision about priorities, cash or people and explore another perspective.

03 / Finding a way forward

Think through the next decision.

If something has gone wrong, start with the facts, the options and the part of the situation you can influence.

Put it into practice

Take one useful idea.
Do something with it.

Choose a lesson that relates to what you’re facing. Write down what it changes about how you see the situation.

Decide on one action that fits your circumstances, who will own it and when you’ll review what happened. Return to the lesson with what you’ve learned.

The mission in practice

Perspective meets
a real situation.

A founder describes what he took from conversations with Bill, what he acted on and what remained unresolved. The business still reached an insolvency plan; the account preserves that outcome.

Cash, people, pricing and the things a young agency founder wishes he’d understood earlier.
